Sega Games has released a new video for upcoming game Senjou no Valkyria 4 (Valkyria Chronicles 4), which introduces characters belonging to the antagonist Empire faction, such as the legendary valkyria also known as the “witch of blizzards”, Crymaria, the captain of the independent squad Ausbruch that will likely serve as the protagonists’ primary nemesis, Klaus, and one of the heads of the imperial academy who develops numerous experimental weapons, Heinrich.
While the first game in the Valkyria series, released on the PS3, was critically acclaimed both in and outside of Japan, the second installment was far less well-received overseas, with the third never seeing a release outside of Japan. Excluding the controversial action-oriented spinoff Valkyria Revolution which was released to the PS4 and Vita in 2017, this will be the first game in the series to be released to home consoles since the original and its remastered versions, and many are hoping that it will be a return to the roots of the series.
Senjou no Valkyria 4 will be released on the PS4 on 21st March 2018 and on the Nintendo Switch in summer 2018.
