The Valkyria Chronicles 4 (Senjou no Valkyria 4) demo for the PS4 was released on PSN today (26th February 2018). The demo goes up to chapter 2 of the game, includes a special mission not seen in the final product, and demo players will be able to continue from where they left off in the completed game.
Additionally, Dengeki Online reported on a media event held on 24th February 2018 in which producer Mikami and director Yamashita answered questions from the press.

Yamashita revealed that development on the title has been underway for two years, and that the main motif of the game is WW2’s eastern front. The snowy setting will also affect gameplay- Enemies will be harder to see in snowstorms, but the player will also be able to guess where they are by following footprints.
The classes in Valkyria 2 and 3 were changed to make the game easier to play on portable consoles. As 4 is made for home consoles, its classes are based on the ones from 1, with one new class added.
Regarding the share button on the PS4, Mikami stated that aside from rights issues regarding a small portion, there will be no limitations on sharing.
Senjou no Valkyria 4 will be released on the PS4 on 21st March 2018 and on the Nintendo Switch in summer 2018.
