Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced that a video game based on the novel and anime series Grancrest Senki (Record of Grancrest War) will be released for the Playstation 4 on 14th June 2018.
Grancrest Senki started as a novel series written by Mizuno Ryou (Record of Lodoss War, Rune Soldier), and also has a tabletop RPG based on the same setting (Grancrest RPG), and manga and anime adaptations. It is set in a fantasy world where the lords of the land, who have special powers meant to be used to fight chaos demons granted to them by holy crests, instead took to fighting each other, engulfing the continent in war.
The game is described as a “tactical RPG” with “RTS (realtime strategy) action”, with the player being able to take control of individual characters in battle in addition to issuing commands, and also freely choose members to participate in battle.
The game features a theme song by rock band Aqua Timez entitled “Taka ga 100-nen no” (“Only 100 Years”).
It was also announced that early purchases will include download codes for Parn and Deedlit, characters from Record of Lodoss War.
