Colopl has announced that popular smartphone game Alice Gear Aegis is being ported to the PC.

Alice Gear Aegis is a 3D action game developed by Pyramid (Dariusburst series, Patapon series), and features character designs by Shimada Fumikane (Sky Girls, Strike Witches, Busou Shinki, Frame Arms Girl, Megami Device), mechanical designs by Ebikawa Kanetake (Full Metal Panic, various Gundam series) and Yanase Takayuki (Armored Core 2, Mobile Suit Gundam 00, Break Blade, several entries in the Super Robot Wars series, the Dariusburst series), and music by ZUNTATA (Dariusburst series).

The game is set in a world where centuries have passed since mankind has abandoned Earth after an invasion by mechanical alien beings called the Vice, and now lives in interstellar generation starships called Shards made out of fragments of Earth’s moon, each of which replicates a place and age from Earth’s history. In the time since the exodus from Earth, technology has advanced to the point where mankind can now hold its ground against the Vice with the aid of Actresses, young women who have the innate ability to use Alice Gears, special equipment that is especially effective against the Vice. The player takes on the role of a new employee to the small Actress agency Narukozaka Manufacturing, located in a Shard replicating 21st century Tokyo.

Though originally released for smartphones (iOS and Android), Alice Gear Aegis has enjoyed steadily increasing popularity due to its using intuitive touch controls to deliver a fully satisfying in-depth action game experience, likeable characters, a suspense-centric hard science fiction plot, and a realtime co-op multiplayer mode.

Aside from confirmation that DMM.com will be involved with the PC version in some way, and that players will be able to share account data between the PC and smartphone versions, no further details on the PC version are as of yet available, though the fact that account data can be shared suggests that any differences between it and the smartphone versions will be cosmetic.

Update (28th May 2019): Colopl has confirmed via Twitter that the PC version of Alice Gear Aegis will be released in June 2019. A specific day has not yet been confirmed.
