Famitsu conducted a survey on the players of Fate/Grand Order to commemorate the game’s sixth anniversary, and published the results in the 8/19-26/2021 issue of the magazine.

The surveyees
The survey was conducted from 19-26 June 2021 and answered by 9052 people, consisting of 4701 male and 3976 female users (375 answered “other”). 43.6% of surveyees were in their 20s while 28.6% were in their 30s, 17.6% were 10-19, 9.1% were in their 40s, and 1.1% were above 50. Not all surveyees answered all questions.
4.7% of surveyees had master levels under 100, 4.4% were at 101-120, 24.5% were at 121-140, 30.6% were at 141-150, 34% were at 151-159, and 1.8% were at 160.
51.2% of players chose a male master, while 48.8% chose a female master.
When players first started playing the game:
- Pre-registration: 17%
- Within 2015: 9.7%
- Within 2016: 12.2%
- Within 2017: 20.8%
- Within 2018: 14%
- Within 2019: 11.7%
- Within 2020: 11.5%
- Within 2021: 3.1%
Reasons for why players started playing the game:
- Because they are fans of the Fate series: 3918 (43.9%)
- Because it was recommended to them: 1815 (20.3%)
- Because it is popular: 1085 (12.2%)
- Because they were interested in the characters: 910 (10.2%)
- Other reasons: 807 (9%)
- Because of the commercials: 391 (4.4%)

- “Some way to replay battles, even if without any rewards.” (20s/M)

- “Cool male characters” (20s/M)
- “All 13 knights of the round table together” (10s/M)
- “Anime of part 1.5 with the female main character” (20s/F)
Finally, surveyees were asked for comments for the anniversary and some of the answers were:
- “I’m enjoying it even though I know nothing about Fate!” (20s/M)
- “I started playing in middle school and now I’m studying to get into college!” (10s/F)
- “I’m looking forward to the grand finale.” (40s/M)
- “Aim for a 10th anniversary next” (30s/M)
