Niconico Chokaigi 2025 was held from 26-27 April at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, with a total of 132,657 attendees.
The annual event is held by Niconico Douga (nicovideo.jp), Japan’s largest social video website, as a celebration of the site’s user community and culture, bringing together a myriad of genres in a melting pot. The event, as always, had its highlights also streamed on the website itself.
Events and activities at the Chokaigi 2024 included video game streamers doing live streams and speedruns on stage, streams of cooking, singing, and dancing, concerts, idol performances, and booths promoting things such as e-sports, tourism, pachinko, Vtubers, Vocaloid, cosplay, itasha, doujinshi, circuit board art, supercomputers, poker, and yo-yos, and even a yagura around which attendees could participate in a bon-odori with a Niconico twist.
We also had a professional photographer covering cosplay at the event, and will have photos of the cosplay up soon: Follow us on Twitter or Facebook to keep up with our updates!
