Tokyo Game Show 2025 is being held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba prefecture from 25-28 September 2025. The event will have 772 exhibitors and 4083 booths. The number of booths far exceeds 2024’s 3252, making this the largest TGS in history.
In addition to featuring the biggest names in the industry, the event also had an entire area dedicated to small indie teams and their games. As with any event of this size, it would be impossible to look at every single indie title on display, and this article is not an attempt at a comprehensive overview: Instead, we are taking a look at just a few of the upcoming Japanese indie games that stood out to us while walking the show floor. The trailers included below are not necessarily new, as not all of the games had new trailers made for TGS 2025, but they should give a good idea of what each game is about. All of the titles listed will be available in English on Steam.
